Sovereignty over the Temple Mount was transferred to the Moslems and it is they who make the rules there.

Who’s Calling the Shots at the Temple Mount?
By Moshe Feiglin

... Translated from the article in Makor Rishon

"This area is under Moslem sovereignty," the senior officer on the Temple Mount said to me.
"I thought that we were in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel,” I answered and set out on a series of letter-writing and meetings with the Chief of Israel Police, the Attorney General and the Minister for Internal Security.

Ultimately, what the officer on the Temple Mount told me was endorsed by the Police Chief. For the first time, he admitted that the prohibitions on the Jews who visit the Temple Mount are not due to security considerations: They exist simply because the sovereignty over the Temple Mount was transferred to the Moslems and it is they who make the rules there.

Yes. In the dark, totally against the law, without any Knesset decision or public debate – the Temple Mount , the heart of our nation – was transferred to foreign rule.

When all the public officials to whom I turned were painted into the indefensible legal corner, the Prime Minister shouldered the responsibility and two weeks ago, issued a direct order prohibiting me from visiting the Temple Mount. This completely contradicts the Jerusalem Basic Law, the Knesset Basic Law and the Honor and Liberty Basic Law.

It revokes Israeli sovereignty in the heart of Jerusalem and tramples the authority of the Knesset. It crosses a clear, thick red line and rewrites the rules in a way that does not allow me to continue my political activities as if nothing has happened. I still remember well how, before the Expulsion from Gush Katif, I begged Likud ministers to resign their government positions in protest. “If we resign,” they answered, “the government will not fall – but we will not be able to influence its decisions or help.”

We all know what happened in the end. When a public figure does not know how to identify the red line plays by the old rules in the new reality –all is lost. Always.

Throughout the years that we have ascended to the Temple Mount, we have gotten used to the disgraceful reality in which a member of the Moslem wakf, accompanied by an Israeli police officer, follows us and spies on our lips – to ensure that no Jew, heaven forbid, moves his lips in prayer at the site of his holy Temple. If a Jew dares to pray, the wakf representative will demands the arrest of the Jew - and the Israeli officer will quickly comply.

This is an abominable prohibition, more severe than the prohibition that the Moslems imposed on Jewish prayer at the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron. There, in pre-State Hebron, the Moslems allowed the Jews to approach the seventh step leading to the Cave and to pray there. But at the Temple Mount, under Israeli rule, so to speak, the prohibition is all-encompassing and strictly enforced.

But we, the visitors to the Mount, got used to it. And habit erases every abomination. In the days of the Hasmoneans, we got used to the fact that before her wedding, every Jewish girl would first have to spend the night with the Greek ruler. Later in history, we got used to the initial decrees of the German conquerors.

Today, we get used to the loss of our legitimacy, to the hypocritical Turkish demands that we apologize and to the Chinese spit in the face during the PM’s official visit there. We get used to it, and in the end, pay a much higher price.

The same is true for us, the visitors to the Temple Mount. We were so anxious to serenely return the Jews to the Mount. We bit our lips, acquiesced to the abominable prohibition against prayer and over the years, we got used to the humiliating guard at our side.  Now we can see that that this abomination is not localized to the wakf representative facing the simple Jew visiting the Temple Mount.

The abomination is an expression of the situation on the highest levels: the conduct of the Moslem leadership against the Israeli leadership.

There in the upper echelons,  instead of the wakf, the Israeli police officer and the Jew who wants to pray on the Mount, we have the king of Jordan, the Prime Minister of Israel and a Member of Knesset who wants to enter Judaism’s most holy site.

Leviticus Chapter 11, “Laws of kashruts”

Laws of kashrus

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them:

2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘This is the living creature that YOU may eat of all the beasts that are upon the earth:

3 Every creature that splits the hoof and forms a cleft in the hoofs and chews the cud among the beasts, that is what YOU may eat.

4 “‘Only this is what YOU must not eat among the chewers of the cud and the splitters of the hoof: the camel, because it is a chewer of the cud but is no splitter of the hoof. It is unclean for YOU..

5 Also the rock badger, because it is a chewer of the cud but does not split the hoof. It is unclean for YOU.

6 Also the hare, because it is a chewer of the cud but it does not have the hoof split. It is unclean for YOU.

7 Also the pig, because it is a splitter of the hoof and a former of a cleft in the hoof, but it itself does not chew the cud. It is unclean for YOU.

8 YOU must not eat any of their flesh, and YOU must not touch their dead body. They are unclean for YOU.

“‘This is what YOU may eat of everything that is in the waters: Everything that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the torrents, those YOU may eat.

10 And everything in the seas and the torrents that has no fins and scales, out of every swarming creature of the waters and out of every living soul that is in the waters, they are a loathsome thing for YOU.

11 Yes, they will become a loathsome thing to YOU. YOU must not eat any of their flesh, and YOU are to loathe their dead body

12 Everything in the waters that has no fins and scales is a loathsome thing to YOU.

13 “‘And these are what YOU will loathe among the flying creatures. They should not be eaten. They are a loathsome thing: the eagle and the osprey and the black vulture,

14 and the red kite and the black kite according to its kind,

15 and every raven according to its kind,

16 and the ostrich and the owl and the gull and the falcon according to its kind,

17 and the little owl and the cormorant and the long-eared owl,

18 and the swan and the pelican and the vulture,

19 and the stork, the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat.

20 Every winged swarming creature that goes on all fours is a loathsome thing to YOU.

21 “‘Only this is what YOU may eat of all the winged swarming creatures that go upon all fours, those that have leaper legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth.

22 These are the ones of them YOU may eat of: the migratory locust according to its kind, and the edible locust after its kind, and the cricket according to its kind, and the grasshopper according to its kind.

23 And every other winged swarming creature that does have four legs is a loathsome thing to YOU.

24 So by these YOU would make yourselves unclean. Everyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean until the evening.

25 And everyone carrying any of their dead bodies will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening.

26 “‘As for any beast that is a splitter of the hoof but is not a former of a cleft and is not a chewer of the cud, they are unclean for YOU. Everyone touching them will be unclean..

27 As for every creature going upon its paws among all the living creatures that go on all fours, they are unclean to YOU. Everyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean until the evening.

כח  וְהַנֹּשֵׂא, אֶת-נִבְלָתָם--יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו, וְטָמֵא עַד-הָעָרֶב; טְמֵאִים הֵמָּה, לָכֶם.  {ס}

28 And he who carries their dead bodies will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to YOU.

29 “‘And this is what is unclean to YOU among the swarming creatures that swarm upon the earth: the mole rat and the jerboa and the lizard according to its kind,

30 and the gecko fanfoot and the large lizard and the newt and the sand lizard and the chameleon.

31 These are unclean to YOU among all the swarming creatures. Everyone touching them in their death state will be unclean until the evening.

32 “‘Now anything upon which any of them should fall in its death state will be unclean, whether it be some wooden vessel or a garment or a skin or sackcloth. Any vessel of which some use is made will be put in water, and it must be unclean until the evening and then be clean.

33 As for any earthenware vessel into which any of them should fall, anything that is within it will be unclean, and YOU will smash it.

34 Any sort of food that may be eaten upon which water may come from it will be unclean, and any drink that may be drunk in any vessel will be unclean.

35 And everything upon which any of their dead bodies may fall will be unclean. Whether oven or jar stand, it is to be broken down. They are unclean, and they will become unclean to YOU.

36 Only a spring and a pit of impounded waters will continue clean, but anyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean.

37 And should any of their dead bodies fall upon any seed of a plant that is to be sown, it is clean.

לח  וְכִי יֻתַּן-מַיִם עַל-זֶרַע, וְנָפַל מִנִּבְלָתָם עָלָיו--טָמֵא הוּא, לָכֶם.  {ס}

38 But in case water should be put upon seed and something of their dead bodies had fallen upon it, it is unclean to YOU.

39 “‘Now in case any beast that is YOURS for food should die, he who touches its dead body will be unclean until the evening.

40 And he who eats any of its dead body will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening; and he who carries off its dead body will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening.

41 And every swarming creature that swarms upon the earth is a loathsome thing. It must not be eaten.

42 As for any creature that goes upon the belly and any creature that goes on all fours or any great number of feet of all the swarming creatures that swarm upon the earth, YOU must not eat them, because they are a loathsome thing.

. 43 Do not make YOUR souls loathsome with any swarming creature that swarms, and YOU must not make yourselves unclean by them and actually get unclean by them.

44 For I am HaShem YOUR God; and YOU must sanctify yourselves and YOU must prove yourselves holy, because I am holy. So YOU must not make YOUR souls unclean by any swarming creature that moves upon the earth.

. 45 For I am HaShem who is leading YOU up out of the land of Egypt to prove myself God to YOU; and YOU must prove yourselves holy, because I am holy.

46 “‘This is the law about the beast and the flying creature and every living soul that moves about in the waters and concerning every soul that swarms upon the earth,

מז  לְהַבְדִּיל, בֵּין הַטָּמֵא וּבֵין הַטָּהֹר; וּבֵין הַחַיָּה, הַנֶּאֱכֶלֶת, וּבֵין הַחַיָּה, אֲשֶׁר לֹא תֵאָכֵל.  {פ}

47 in order to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean and between the living creature that is eatable and the living creature that may not be eaten.’”
